Surveying a Rock Encased Bank
Ports & Harbours
The bank in one section of Brest harbor, France was previously a difficult area for multibeam survey due to the shallow water and scattered acoustic energy caused by numerous rocks.
Previous attempts to survey the area using multibeam echosounders were unsuccessful. However, the bank was eventually surveyed successfully using the Sonic 2024, which recorded bathymetry and Snippet data. The results were exceptional, with the Sonic 2024 providing clear and distinct data for the entire bank, which was previously unattainable.
