Survey
The Polynesian wreck lies at around 65m depth. Wrecks are the supermodels of the underwater world, but they do serve to illustrate a point.
Early in 2025, we did a baseline survey of this wreck using the Sonic 2026 multibeam at 450kHz, passing over the wreck in 6 passes to get as much detail as possible.
We then went over the wreck in just a single pass with the Voxometer, where the improved result and detail is plain to see thanks to the MA3 Multi Aspect™ principle where the wreck was observed from different aspect angles, at different frequencies and at different times.
With the Voxometer, surveys can be performed at high(er) speed, in a single pass, without compromising the data quality. There are no avoidable data holidays or the need to go back and re-survey the area.
What is evident from this simple survey example, is firstly the improvement in data quality from the Voxometer and being able to achieve this in a single pass versus 6 passes translates into a real time saving of around 80%!
Now just imagine what this could mean for your survey project!
